The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles defeated Hope International on the road on Thursday night, 3-1 in Fullerton.

By the Numbers: Andrew Hammer carried the load for CUI with 21 kills hitting .381 with eight digs.  Jonathan Predney added 13 and Timothy Moses had 10.  Predney hit .684 as CUI hit .275 as a squad.  Joseph Pillon had 47 assists and Griffin Ender had 16 digs.  Hunter Howell led with four blocks.

The Difference:  The match was very close throughout, but CUI had four less errors and six more assists.

Critical Plays:  In set one kills from Moses and a block from Howell helped CUI grab the 19-13 edge.  Hope closed to 23-20, but CUI finished it 25-21 on a Moses kill.  The Royals took control of set two, winning 25-17.  The Eagles led early in set three but it was all tied at 19.  Two errors and a Moses kill gave CUI three-straight.  They held that for the 25-22 win.  Set four was exciting as HIU came back late to tie at 20.  Predney had a kill to set up set point for CUI, but Hope grabbed two straight and then had four straight set points.  Two Predney kills led the Eagles late to the 31-29 win. 

What it Means: The Eagles improved to 6-1 and the Royals remained winless.
