Box Score 2 FRESNO, Calif. - With the series tied at one game apiece, Concordia played the final two games of the series on Saturday. Fresno Pacific won game one 8-1, while Concordia took the second game by a close score 3-2, tying the series with two games each.
Game One: Fresno Pacific 8, Concordia 1
Fresno Pacific struck first with an RBI single in the second inning.
Carl Turner grounded out in the fifth inning to score
Chris Martin II and the Eagles lone run for the game. Fresno Pacific topped Concordia with five runs in the fifth inning and one in the seventh, and the Eagles dropping game one.
Jair Donovan and Martin II each went 2-for-4 at the plate, both tallying a double.
Isaiah Bettencourt pitched 3.1 innings, allowing three hits with striking out two.
Game Two: Concordia 3, Fresno Pacific 2
Mike Killeen was the starting pitcher for the Eagles and he went four innings, giving up only one hit.
Morgan Brannock came in at the bottom of the seventh inning, earning his second save of the season.
Cooper Moore contributed in a big way in the second game, going 3-for-3. Moore knocked in a run with an RBI single in the second inning. With
Bailey Collins reaching on a fielding error by the Sunbirds, Moore scored in the fifth making it a 2-0 lead.
Just as the Sunbirds were able to tie the game with runs in the fifth and sixth inning, Moore came in clutch with a solo home run in the top of the seventh to take a 3-2 lead, ultimately being able to take the win at the bottom of the seventh inning with Brannock not allowing a run.
