IRVINE, Calif. - Bailey Collins and Shane Schick were key contributors in the first home series of the year for Concordia baseball. After helping the Eagles go 3-1 in four games against Regis University, Collins was named PacWest Player of the Week on Monday while Schick repeated as PacWest Freshman of the Week. The pair helped the CUI offense light up the scoreboard during the homestand which saw the Eagles bring home 37 runs in the four-game series.

Bailey Collins - PacWest Player of the Week

The Eagles senior first baseman went 7-for-16 at the plate with a home run, six RBI and nine runs scored against Regis and APU this past week. In those five games, Collins accumulated a .438 batting average. The Colorado native also posted an impressive .555 on-base percentage (11-for-20) in that stretch.

His homer against Regis over the weekend gave him two on the year and 21 for his career which puts him just two jacks shy of tying for third-place in CUI program history. Since the season started for the Eagles in January, Collins has collected two homers, two triples, and three doubles.

He enters Tuesday's contest against APU with a batting average of .462 on the year which leads his team. In 2019, Collins was also named Third Team All-PacWest and Academic All-PacWest for the third consecutive year. He collected 43 hits, 31 runs scored, 24 RBI, and two home runs last season.

Shane Schick - PacWest Freshman the Week

The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. native went 3-for-9 adding three RBI, two steals and four runs scored this past week. In addition to batting .333 last week, he also posted a .500 OBP while starting three times in left field. This is the second straight week Schick has earned the title of PacWest Conference Freshman of the Week.

From the start, Schick has made an impact on the Eagles team collecting seven hits, five RBI, seven runs scored, and has a batting average of .389.
