IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's water polo team snatched a thrilling 8-7 victory on Friday in their first home contest of the year against Toronto.
Lindsey Heaney captured the deciding goal in the final two minutes of action and it was a close contest the whole match.
Shannon Graham led the CUI offense with three goals, including two that came in the first quarter off passed from
Madison Ravelo. Ravelo also scored once and handed out a career-high six assists.
Josie Miller added two goals and
Dailynn Santoro registered one goal in the third quarter.
The Green and Gold will be back home again on Friday, Feb. 28 when they welcome San Diego State at 1:30 p.m. at Woollett Aquatics Center for their first conference match of the year.
