IRVINE, Calif. - For the first time in her career, freshman swimmer
Alex Leland earned a weekly award from the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Association.
The Fort Collins, Colo. native was exceptional at this past weekend's OC Invitational and
helped Concordia win the meet with six other schools competing in Irvine.
Leland won the 100 breaststroke and was also part of a winning quartet for the Green and Gold in the medley relay. She teamed with
Georgia Caraway,
Aranza Martha and
Hailey Garcia to pickup the maximum points in that race.
Leland also enters this week with the top-ranked 100 breaststroke time in the entire conference.
Concordia hosts Biola this Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Portola High School. It will be a very unique Triple Distance Dual Meet which will give both squads a chance to measure up against a local rival while also trying to trim some time off their next events.
The meet will be live streamed for free and all information can be found on the schedule page or through our @cuigoldeneagles social media platforms including Instagram, Linktree and Twitter.
Admission and parking are also both free.
