Irvine, Calif.- After an impressive season opener,
Jayden Hernandez was rightfully named Pacific Coast Swimming and Diving Conference's athlete of the week. Hernandez swam in four relays and led his team to victory in all of them. His 3x100 butterfly relay even set a new school record. To top it all off, Jayden led off that 3x100 fly in 50.69" which is the 6th fastest time in NCAA DII so far this year.
Â
Hernandez is no stranger to PCSC athlete of the week honors. In fact, this week in 2022 he earned the same award. He led his team to 3 wins at the same meet one year ago, but one upped himself this year when he swam in (and won) four. He also bested his opening 100 fly split by .06 seconds, setting him up to perform better than he ever has before.

CUI's swim and dive teams have another week left of their extended training block and will head to the big Rodianoff Invitational at Pepperdine on 10/13-14. View the complete swim and dive scheduleÂ
