IRVINE, Calif. – Entering their first season as a NCAA DII sport, the Concordia University Irvine men's lacrosse team is already earning some respect in its new conference.
The coaches in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) voted CUI to finish in third place out of five teams in the upcoming season. Colorado Mesa returns as the favorite to win the conference, with Westminster slated to be second, followed by Concordia, Adams State and CSU Pueblo.
The Dominican Penguins will join the RMAC as an associate member in men's lacrosse next season (2025) just like CUI is this year. That will give the new-look conference six programs including one in Southern California and then one in Northern California.
CUI has multiple non-conference games scheduled with Dominican this spring.
