Kawehi Chang Collects PacWest Player of the Week Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – Kawehi Chang earns the PacWest Player of the Week from the CUI women's volleyball team after picking up two nail biter matches last week. The Golden Eagles earned another two victories over Dominican and Azusa Pacific that both went the distance with five sets.
 
Chang led the offense and reached 36 assists with a career-high of 18 digs from the back row against Dominican on Wednesday. The senior has reached 30 or more assists in 17 of the 23 matches played for the Green and Gold.
 
The Peoria, Ariz. Native topped the week off dishing out 55 assists to her offense at APU on Saturday. Chang has reached over 50 assists four times where she notched a record book high of 57 in five sets against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 7. She marked another 15 digs against the Cougars and marked her third consecutive game in double-digit digs.
 
Chang is ranked fourth in PacWest conference with 808 assists on the season with an 8.60 average per set. Her defense has been an asset for the Green and Gold as she currently sits second for CUI behind libero with 244 digs.
 
The Golden Eagles will be on the road Thursday Nov. 7 as they take on Vanguard at 7 p.m. before heading back in the CU Arena to take on Hawai'i Pacific Saturday Nov. 9 at 3 p.m.
