COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Concordia University women's volleyball took on newly added member of the PacWest conference Vanguard. The Golden Eagles went to another fifth set match marking their seventh in conference play. Vanguard came out with the win with scores 27-25, 22-25, 25-17, 23-25, and 15-12.
Kayden Croy led CUI in both categories of kills and digs reaching 16 and 17. Croy set another career-high with 17 digs to top her previous best at 16 against Fresno Pacific on Sept. 21. Senior
Kennedy Farley had another double digit night with 10 and
Ally Scheidle had seven. Another notable performance from middle
Caitlin Jarrell as she notched another 10 kills and two aces.
The PacWest player of the week Kawehi Chang had 33 assists while having four kills and 15 digs.

Delaney Risse had 12 digs each from the back row with
Celia Dowell contributing nine.
The first set toggled between the two teams but the Lions were able to pull away and win by just two points. In the second set the Lions started the set out with the lead but tough serving from Orava going on a five point run. Dowell contributed with a seven point run to extend the Green and Gold lead.
Vanguard jumped out to an early lead in the third and was looking ahead to capture the win in the fourth set. CUI was down 14-18 but a few kills and block from
Delaney Gregg tied the game at 18 a-piece. A couple kills from Scheidle and Croy and errors from the Lions side gave CUI the edge and taking the fourth set. In the last set Vanguard had an 8-4 lead at the side switch and held Concordia to 12 points.
With only four conference games left of the season CUI will be back in the CU Arena for a two game stanza against Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. followed by Monday Nov. 11 against Chaminade with a 7 p.m. start time.
