IRVINE, Calif. - Nine Concordia University Irvine men's lacrosse players received recognition from the RMAC after stellar seasons both in the classroom and on the field.
Leading the way on the RMAC All-Academic First Team were
Connor Kuhl and
Drew Olsen.Â
Seven more Golden Eagles made the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.Â
Nick Beeson tied for the team lead with 36 goals and added 16 assists for 52 points. The graduate student earned his teaching credential at Concordia and is joined by sophomore
Easton Caneva and upperclassmenÂ
Ben Gorelick,
Owen Johnson,
Max Texter,
Edward McCann IV and
Braden Schneider.
McCann and Schneider formed an impressive duo on the back end, sniffing out possessions, causing havoc and combining for more than 70 ground balls this year. Caneva and Texter each scored three times. Caneva and Gorelick also finished in double digits helping out with ground balls, while Johnson also helped out

This is the first time CUI men's lacrosse was eligible for these accolades after making the move up from the club level to the NCAA DII level and joining the conference in this particular sport.

Concordia finished its historic season with seven wins at the NCAA DII level. This included the team's emotional win over Westminster in the RMAC conference tournament to avenge two former losses to the Griffins. The squad's season came to a close after an epic overtime clash with top-seeded Colorado Mesa in the championship game.
