CUI Lacrosse Trio named PBC/RMAC All-Academic First Team; 15 Make Honor Roll

Golden Eagles With Program-High Number of Honor Roll Student-Athletes

IRVINE, Calif. - Three Concordia University Irvine men's lacrosse players led the way on the Peach Belt Conference/RMAC Division All-Academic First Team.

Leading the way on the All-Academic First Team are graduate student Jake Cloutier and fellow standout defenseman Colin O'Connor, along with scoring anchor Max Texter.

A total of 15 Golden Eagles made the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll. Joining that talented trio mentioned above were seniors Tyler Hilmar, Owen Johnson and Bryan Parr. Juniors Drew Klingman, Eli Nelson, Easton Caneva and John Copley.  Grad students Connor Kuhl, Edward McCann IV and Braden Schneider as well as newcomer Keegan Charupoom and sophomore Reece Lapham rounded out this studious group.  Kuhl was a First Team All-Academic honoree last season and was nominated again as well.

To qualify for the Honor Roll, student-athletes had to maintain at least a 3.30 GPA or higher. To be a First Team honoree, all nominated players had to sport at least a 3.50 GPA or higher for consideration. Sports Communicators (also known as SIDs) among the RMAC men's lacrosse schools then voted for 13 members to make up those First Team selections. Voters nominate but cannot vote for their own school's players.

This is the second time CUI men's lacrosse was eligible for these accolades after making the move up from the club level to the NCAA DII level and joining the conference in this particular sport.  In 2024, there were nine Golden Eagles elected for RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, with Kuhl and Drew Olsen earning First Team All-Academic nods.

Concordia finished its historic season with seven wins at the NCAA DII level. This included the team's emotional win over Westminster in the RMAC conference tournament to avenge two former losses to the Griffins. The squad's season came to a close after an epic overtime clash with top-seeded Colorado Mesa in the championship game.
