IRVINE, Calif. - Concordia played with heart and never backed down, showing great effort throughout the match, even against a tough, ranked Stanford squad. The Golden Eagles kept things competitive and had several strong individual performances that stood out.
Paul Schulteis delivered an efficient offensive effort, finishing with a very strong .556 hitting percentage, with six kills on nine attempts. Schulteis continued to be a reliable option in key moments, swinging confidently and finding open spots on the court. His efficiency gave the Golden Eagles important momentum and helped steady the offense throughout the match.
Christian Galoppo led the team on the stat sheet with a team-high digs, showcasing his hustle and ability to keep the ball alive defensively while also contributing with double-digit kills. Galoppo's defensive presence made a major difference, as he consistently read the ball well and controlled tough swings from the back row. His all-around effort and energy helped spark long rallies and kept CUI competing point after point.
Overall, even in a challenging match, the Green and Gold showed grit, balanced play, and individual highlights to build on as the season continues.
