Tanner Luster was a national champion and one of the best to ever play basketball at CUI. He played for the Eagles from 2001 to his graduation in 2005. He was the 2005 GSAC Player of the Year and selected All-GSAC in his final three seasons. He was a NAIA First Team All-American in 2005 and Third Team All-American in 2004. Luster was selected All-Tournament in 2003 and won the Charles Stevenson Hustle Award in route to the Eagles' 2003 NAIA National Championship. Tanner holds the single-game rebound record of 26, which he recorded against Mountain State on April 1, 2003. He is ranked in the top-ten for single-season rebounding in three separate seasons with 326 in 2004-05, good for third, 278 in 2003-04, which ranks fifth, and his 270 in 35752002-03 is sixth. Tanner's 15 double-doubles in 2004-05 rank second and his 10 in 2003-04 are 10th. He is fifth in field goal percentage at 63.9% in 2004-05 and seventh in made free throws with 146 in 2003-04. He ranks fifth with 216 free throw attempts in 2003-04 and sixth with 206 tries in 2004-05. He is first all-time in field goals made with 662, rebounds with 1079, double-doubles with 30, and free throw attempts with 778. Luster is second all-time in points at 1810, field goal attempts with 1119, field goal percentage at 59.2%, and free throws made with 484. He is sixth in blocks with 61 and ninth in assists with 265. Luster's teams went a combined 116-30 in his four years. That 79.5% winning percentage produced a national championship in 2003 and a national runner-up finish in 2004.
