IRVINE, Calif. - Concordia University Irvine pitcher Callie Nunes was named PacWest Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday after she posted her third career no-hitter this past Saturday against Concordia Portland. 

Nunes struck out a season-best 11 batters in CUI's 7-0 victory over the Cavaliers and only walked two batters. The Modesto, Calif. native even struck out seven batters in a row at one point

It was the first seven-inning no-hitter for the Eagles sophomore and already the 17th time in her career she has posted double-digit strikeouts on the mound. Her two previous no-hitters each came in games that only went five innings.

Nunes and the Eagles return to action at home this Tuesday, Feb. 19 when they host Adelphi in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.  The two teams will also tango with a third game in the series slated for Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 1 p.m.
