IRVINE, Calif. – For the second straight week, Concordia University Irvine soccer player
Jadenn Carrillo was recognized by the PacWest Conference for being a difference-maker.
The Anaheim Hills, Calif. native repeated as the PacWest Freshman of the Week
after helping the Eagles secure a 2-2 draw against Dixie State over the weekend.
With the Green and Gold trailing 2-1 late in the second half, Carrillo net the equalizer off a corner kick in the 84th minute to help the Eagles draw even. It was her second career goal and came in just her fourth collegiate match.
Carrillo racked up a season-high six shots against the Trailblazers. The Villa Park High School alum entered Monday as the conference leader in shots with 16.
The Eagles (1-2-1) were picked to finish second in the Preseason All-PacWest Poll and return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 when they welcome APU to Irvine for a non-conference tilt at 1 p.m. CUI opens up PacWest play the following week on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Fresno Pacific.
