IRVINE, Calif. - After two outstanding performances last week, Freshman
Olivia Ocampo earned recognition as the PacWest Player of the Week for a second week in a row!
The Eagles took on the visiting Penguins last Thursday in their first match of the week, where Ocampo collected her first goal with a back-post header, assisted on the cross by
Gabby Breton. Her goal against Dominican proved to be the decider as they concluded the match 1-0.Â
She scored her second goal of the week against Holy Names, giving the Green and Gold their third goal of the half. She collected the ball from
Analisa Gjonovich and snuck it past the keeper by the near post.
Ocampo has proved herself to be a key player for the program this season as she leads the Eagles with eight goals and has held considerable dominance in the midfield. Her ability to win the ball in the middle and distribute it to her attacking players has helped the team continue putting pressure on opponents every week.Â
In their next match, the Eagles travel down to San Diego this Thursday, Nov. 11, to take on Point Loma Nazarene in the final road game of their season and are back home for Senior Day against FPU on Saturday, Nov. 13.Â
