TOPEKA, Kan.- The Concordia University Irvine indoor track and field teams took a small group out to Topeka, Kansas to brave the cold at the Ichabod Invitational. The Green and Gold previously headed out to Kansas for the Washburn Open that occurred on January 29th through January 30th. Click HERE to read the highlights from the Washburn Open.
At the Ichabod invitational, the men's team was fired up and made a major milestone. The Eagles 4x400m relay group secured a school record in the 4x400m relay race. Mike Ervin began the race, followed by teammates Gunnar Ashmon, Miguel Ayala, and Kessler O'Brien who finished the group.
Ervin individually placed eighth in the men's high jump.
The women's team had eight top 10 appearances.
Paige Johnson placed third in the 60m dash, fifth in the long jump, and sixth in the 200m dash.
The women's 4x400m relay group composed of Madison Hergert, Logan Nelson, Morgan Schepker, and Samantha Gomez came in fifth. Hergert individually placed second in the 400m dash and Gomez individually placed eighth in the 60m hurdles.
Sarah Fajer ranked eighth in shot put.
