IRVINE, Calif. - Sydney Sprinkle is your new PacWest Player of the Week after she helped Concordia softball clinch its third consecutive PacWest Conference title with a scorching performance at the plate.

Sprinkle went 9-for-14 in the batter's box in four wins over Holy Names and hit two homers, three doubles and 9 RBI.  The Palm Desert, Calif. native extended her hitting streak to 12 games and leads CUI with 47 RBI. 

Sprinkle also ranks second on the squad with 54 hits and 12 doubles.  Leadoff hitter Megan Massa ranks first in both categories.

This is the second time this season that the PacWest Preseason Player of the Year has earned this weekly honor by the league.

Concordia has been ranked in the Top 10 of the NFCA DII rankings this entire season and the Eagles climbed all the way to No. 1 in March during its remarkable 36-0 start to the season.

This past week, Sprinkle also helped Concordia head coach and athletic director Crystal Rosenthal earn career win No. 600 after the second win of the series over the Hawks.

The Eagles visit Biola on Saturday, April 23 for a doubleheader before hosting Azusa Pacific on Senior Day the following weekend starting at noon on Saturday, April 30 in Irvine.
