IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team has been ranked to finish in the Top 5 in the PacWest Conference, with a projected finish of fourth place.

The Golden Eagles were picked fourth by 11 coaches in the league, behind Biola, defending champion Chaminade and Azusa Pacific.

The team finished tied for third place last season with a record of 20-7 overall and 15-5 in PacWest. Head coach
Paula Weishoff returns five of seven starters including
Kirra Schulz and
Jalyssa Sanchez, who were both named Second Team All-PacWest.
Cassidy Gelacio and
Julia Wilson were also among the key contributers at the libero and defensive specialist positions throughout last season. Italian native
Daniela Poles will come back for her junior year and showed she can play all around the court after making an immediate impact in 2021.
CUI looks to new additions such as three graduate transfers
Alex Parisian from Hawai'i Hilo,
Michelle Feliciano from Denver, along with
Gabrielle Barcelos from Cal State Fullerton who look to make an impact on the team.

The Golden Eagles also added an additional eight freshmen this year that look to see the court including twins
Cassie Prior and
Mattie Prior from Park City, Utah.
