IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine swim and dive teams enjoyed a competitive weekend in two locations as they continued the annual tradition of the Green vs. Gold Meet – with a twist.
37 Eagles participated in Day Two of the Green v Gold intrasquad this past Sunday, racing in the Mission Mile 1-mile open water swim on Lake Mission Viejo. Results from this race were combined with the Day One
swim meet results held Saturday at Northwood High School.
Led by
Hannah Chabin and
Garrison Veron, the Gold team held a 208-194 lead going into Sunday. Junior
Hunter May and freshman
Aliyah Treadwell won their respective races representing the
Lindsey Fruhwirth and Chris Haygood-helmed Green squad.
The Gold men shined by going 2-3-4-6-8 and despite the valiant efforts of the Green women behind Aliyah (placing 4-5-6-8-9-10), the Gold team held on for a 252-244 victory to take home the Paddle!
