The men's and women's swim teams had another big day at the LaVerne Invitational at ELAC.
Jayden Hernandez recorded his second runner-up finish, the men's 200 medley and 800 free relays secured top-5 finishes and CUI put 26 swimmers into the finals this evening. The teams are looking to finish out the first half of their season with a big final day tomorrow.
Jayden rocked a 49.14 in the finals of the 100 butterfly, good for second place (matching his 50 free finish from Friday), a new personal best and the 2nd fastest time in school history. He also inched closer to another NCAA "B" qualifying time and is now only 4/10th of a second away. This was a huge event for CUI as a trio of freshman scored points for the Golden Eagles:
Julian Hernandez (50.18p, 6th),
Owen Neitzel (50.67p, 6th), and

The women were also impressive in the same event:
Georgia Caraway was 10th, birthday girl
Hailey Garcia recorded a PR in prelims (7th fastest in school history), freshman
