Megan Massa and pitcher
Cortney Koelmans earned weekly awards from the PacWest Conference on Tuesday after helping the nationally-ranked Golden Eagles sweep Hawaii Hilo this past weekend.
Massa hit .533 at the plate (8-for-15) against the Vulcans with three doubles, four runs scored and two RBI. Massa is the reigning PacWest Player of the Year and was also the preseason pick to repeat for that honor.
Koelmans pitched a complete game shutout in her start against Hawaii Hilo. She allowed just three hits in seven innings and struck out three with no walks. The junior improved to 2-0 on the season by picking up the Saturday victory.

CUI entered their series at Chaminade with a 14-4 record and a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play. The CUI pitching staff has thrown four shutouts over the course of their six-game winning streak.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) continues to feature CUI as a Top 20 team in every national poll so far this season. CUI came in at
No. 17 in the NFCA DII rankings this Tuesday after rising from No. 19 to No. 16 the previous week.
The Golden Eagles play doubleheaders against Chaminade on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in Honolulu and then visit Hawaii Pacific on Saturday and Sunday for four more games before returning home from their 12-game Hawaii road trip.
