PUEBLO, Colo. - Three successful jumps and one race at the NCAA DII Track and Field Championships helped propel Dylan Fox and Porshe Eismann into historic territory this week.

Fox became the first men's track and field athlete from Concordia University Irvine to compete in this prestigious event.  Eismann became the first CUI distance runner to ever have that privilege as she competed in the 800 meter dash. 

Together, the pair become the answer to a trivia question. This was the first time CUI had sent both a male and female representative to compete on this national stage in the school's NCAA DII era.

Fox was named a Second Team All-American for finishing in 11th place in the long jump on Thursday.  The top eight finishers in individual events earn First Team All-American status while those who finish from ninth to 12th earn Second Team honors.

The sophomore breakout star soared to a 7.47m mark on Thursday in his first flight which wound up being his best attempt out in Colorado.  He followed that up by nearly matching that mark with jumps of 7.46m and 7.41m.

The 7.47m mark was also his second best outing of the season - topped only by his school record of 7.55m that he set during the PacWest Conference Championships. 

Eismann competed in the 800m dash prelims on Friday.  She finished fifth in her heat and No. 15 overall out of 24 competitors.  She was one of three PacWest runners in this event and finished ahead of Azusa Pacific junior Briseida Garcia Meza who was 17th overall. Biola's Maggie Williams placed 11th. 

The event this year was hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo which is located a few hours south of Denver.
