IRVINE, Calif. – With a new season on the horizon, sophomore midfielder
Anthony Morales from the Golden Eagles men's soccer team was named the Preseason PacWest Player of the Year by coaches from around the league.

Additionally the Golden Eagles were picked fourth to finish in the conference totaling (84) points, behind Biola (100), Point Loma (103), and Dominican (109) in the voting.
For Morales, this is his first All-PacWest preseason recognition after posting a stellar freshmen season with the Golden Eagles. After the 2022 season, Morales accepted the PacWest Freshman of the Year Award and was the only true freshman to be named First Team All-PacWest. He led CUI in goals (7), points (15), game-winning goals (2), shots (56) and shots on goal (25) while starting every match for the Golden Eagles.

The team finished in a third place tie with Point Loma last season which included a solid 6-3-1 mark in PacWest play. Head coach and alum
Chris Gould is returning back to CUI soccer for his 14th season as the squad tries to capture the program's first PacWest men's soccer title.
