The Golden Eagle women won 11 of 14 events on the way to a 139-94 win over the Sunbirds at Sunnyside HS in Fresno. The men were on the opposite end of a 85-177 final as they managed two wins against the top team in the PCSC.
Alex Leland continued her strong month with wins in the 100 breast (1:06.75), the 50 free (25.42) and as a member of the victorious 200 medley and 400 free relays. The latter relay (with
Alice Stainer,
Hailey Garcia,
Aubrie Carver) put up a solid 3:39.95 final time with 54s from Stainer, Leland and Carver.
Rachel Maki led off the B relay in a 54.97 and swam to a win in the 1000 free (10:52.62). Tying for the win in the 200 breaststroke were
Jade Hughes and
Ellie Hardey (2:32.54) and
Alice Stainer recorded a win in the 200 free (1:57.81). Carver won the 200 back (2:10.91),
Georgia Caraway the 100 butterfly(59.84),
Ryan Burke the 200 fly (2:14.20), and
Carissa Ward the 400 IM (4:51.12).
Jayden Hernandez earned a gold in the 50 free (21.51) and
Jon Sutherlin did the same in the 1000 free (10:12.34) for the men.
The team is three weeks out from the PCSC Championships and the Golden Eagles will be ready to take flight at ELAC!
