CUI Pair Named RMAC Players of the Week For First Time

McFadden & McCann Helped Men's Lacrosse Notch First Two Conference Wins

IRVINE, Calif. – On the heels of snatching the program's first two league wins as members of the RMAC, two Concordia men's lacrosse players are the Conference Players of the Week for the first time in school history.

Chad McFadden was voted the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week and Edward McCann IV was given the nod as RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.

They each had standout performances to help the Golden Eagles top Adams State and CSU Pueblo during their successful road trip to Colorado this past weekend.

McFadden totaled 10 goals with 6 assists & 11 ground balls in Concordia's first two RMAC victories this past week. The Santa Margarita High School alum net five goals and added a team-high five assists in CUI's big 19-3 road win over Adams State.

The Trabuco Canyon native followed that up with a team-best five goals again in Sunday's 20-8 victory over CSU Pueblo along with an assist. McFadden leads CUI with 36 points this season and ranks first on his squad with 25 goals (Averaging 3.3 goals & 4.5 points per contest).

McCann was a menace to opponents this past week in CUI's two conference victories. He scooped up 13 ground balls and caused even turnovers to help the Golden Eagles improve to 2-2 in the RMAC.

The East Rockaway, New York native from East Rockaway High School had his best game against CSU Pueblo with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers to help a freshman goalie make his CUI debut with a victory. This after picking up six ground balls and causing three turnovers against Adams State.
