IRVINE, Calif. – For the third straight year, the Concordia University Irvine women's water polo team has qualified over a dozen student-athletes for the GCC All-Academic Team.
Fourteen Golden Eagles met the mark this time by shining both in the classroom and in the pool. It's the second-highest total in the NCAA DII era for the program, following
last year's number of 16 honorees.
The Golden Coast Conference (GCC) honors all collegiate water polo players with this academic honor who carried at least a 3.0 GPA and played in at least half of the team's games this past season.
Allyson Corbett was honored for the third straight year, while sophomores
Jaden Soto,
Sofia Smith and
Kailah Peery were all recognized for the second season in a row. Freshman
Munroe Blem led the way with a 3.98 GPA.

CUI finished the season 4-3 down the stretch with two wins
over D1 program Santa Clara University. A new season begins in early 2026 with many of these Golden Eagles coming back primed for another fun campaign!
