On Friday afternoon, Concordia Women's Tennis beat Dixie State University for its third win of 2018 with the score of 7-2.
Concordia won all doubles matches to get things started. Anastasiia Kuprina and Samantha Schuster swept their opponents 8-2. Then, Ghazal Pakbaten and Johanna Keeline took a confident win with the same score. Ghada Al-ajeely and Ashley Glick fought hard and finished doubles with the score of 8-7.
At a no.1 spot, Kuprina kicked off the singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win. At the no. 2 spot, Pakbaten collected another win for the Eagles with the score of 7-6, 2-4 (retire). Al-ajeely and Glick picked up two more wins for the Eagles.
On Saturday morning, the Eagles competed against Division I program, Southern Utah University. The doubles team of Kuprina and Schuster dropped a close match by the score of 7-8. Pakbaten and Keeline took down their opponents with the score of 8-3 and collected the first win for the Eagles.
Pakbaten and Schuster had outstanding performances and collected two more wins for Concordia. Pakbaten defeated her opponent with the score of 6-2, 6-4 and Schuster won in three sets with the score of 3-6, 6-2,10-6.
Although the Eagles were defeated by Southern Utah University by the score of 3-6, the competition helped prepare them for the remainder of the season.
Women's Tennis returns to the court on Wednesday at 2 p.m. vs Point Loma.
