On Feb 27., Women's Tennis defeated California State University, Los Angeles 5-4 for the first time since 2012.

At no. 1 spot, the duo of Anastasiia Kuprina and Samantha Schuster had to battle hard to defeat Elizaveta Sokolova and Amanda Schneider from CSULA with the score of 8-7. In the no. 2 spot, Johanna Keeline and Ghazal Pakbaten collected another win for the Eagles over Isabella Lopez and Luciana Di Laura 8-4.

At the top of the singles roster, Kuprina defeated Sokolova in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and picked up a deciding point for the Eagles. In the no. 2 flight, Pakbaten got  a confident win against Amanda Schneider with the score of 6-4, 6-4. Keeline dropped a close match to Di Laura, 6-3, 2-6, 1-6 and Schuster won her match over Isabella Lopez with the score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to secure the CUI win. 

"Today's match was a battle from beginning to end," Head Coach Jonathan Sanchez said. "The team showed a lot of heart and competed very well. I was very pleased with Anastasiia and Samantha at no. 1 doubles today. They saved a match point to get the game winning doubles match for our team."

Concordia returns to the court on Mar. 3 to host a conference match over Dominican College in Newport Beach, Calif. at 10 a.m.
