On Thursday afternoon, the Women's Tennis Team had the last home game of the season and celebrated Senior Day with a win over Westmont College and an overall score of 8-1.
CUI went 2-1 in doubles play against the Warriors. At the No. 1 spot, a duo of Anastasiia Kuprina and Samantha Schuster picked up a quick win with the score of 8-1. At the No. 2 spot, Ghazal Pakbaten and Johanna Keeline were down 3-6, but turned the game around and defeated their opponents with the score of 8-6. In the No. 3 position, the duo of Ashley Glick and Haley Diefenbach fell short with the score of 8-3.
For the singles competition, the Eagles were picked up the wins at every position. Anastasiia Kuprina picked up the first win for the Eagles at the top position over a junior Isabel Lee with the score of 6-2, 6-2. Ghazal Pakbaten defeated a freshman Peyton Trebisky with the same score. Johanna Keeline followed suit with the win over Tatum Phillips 6-3, 6-1. Samantha Schuster had the closest contest in the singles play as she defeated a freshman Delaney Roche with the score of 7-6, 6-4. Ghada Al-Ajelly collected a win over Taylor Cheung-Damonte with the score of 6-2, 6-2. Kathrine Jensen notched the final Eagle point, winning her game over Zarina Huber with the score of 6-2, 6-2.
Next week, the Eagles are heading to Surpris, Ariz. for the conference tournament.
