IRVINE, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine baseball team was ranked No. 32 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in its 2021 D2 Pre-Season Poll. 

The Eagles had an impressive 17-7 start to the 2020 campaign when the season was abruptly cut short. This 17-7 run included series wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills, Regis University, Point Loma, and a 4-game sweep over conference opponent Holy Names. CUI ranked 3rd in winning percentage (.708) in the West Region behind fellow PacWest member Biola University (.857) and UC San Diego (.810) – a program that has since transitioned to Division 1. 

Joe Turgeon enters his 13th season with CUI and 6th as head coach. He looks to lead the Eagles on another successful campaign in 2021. "It is always a great honor as a team to be recognized nationally and a motivator for the team to press forward for continued success. The 2021 team is looking forward for the opportunity to be together and play a full season."
