Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. – CUI women's tennis is back on the court as they played their first game today!
The Eagles battled hard but fell just short to Cal State Fullerton, 3-4. The doubles teams had a difficult time with the Titans but put up a tough fight. Three CUI players won their singles matches to put up points for the team.
Ghazal Pakbaten, an
ITA DII All-American, defeated Eira Tobrand in the No. 1 spot.
Camila Tumosa, an addition to the team this year, defeated YuSeng Suh in the No. 3 position. Finally, in the No. 5 spot a freshman addition to the team this year,
Tiffany Carrillo defeated Juliette Daries.
"I feel like I am alive again," said Pakbaten. "Not playing for an entire year has never happened to me in my life. Definitely enjoying every second of it! So thankful and blessed to be able to get back on the court."
Many athletes are getting the opportunity to play again this season and it is an extreme blessing. The Eagles are very excited to be back out there and have a very competitive schedule up ahead! The Green and Gold have four more away games lined up before they touch their home courts. They are set to play Feb. 10 at 2:00 p.m. against Westmont.
