IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team earned the honor of qualifying for the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award after compiling a team GPA of 3.33 during the 2021-22 school year.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) partners with the United States Marine Corps every summer to recognize top-notch college volleyball programs that earn a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher.
More than 1,000 programs were honored this past school year to acknowledge student-athletes across all three NCAA levels as well as select high school programs.
This is also the 30th year the AVCA has celebrated these academic accomplishments.

CUI won 20 games last season under former Olympian and head coach
Paula Weishoff. The Eagles look forward to opening up a new campaign this coming semester in the next few weeks. After competing in multiple scrimmages and a handful of road games in August, Concordia will host its regular season home opener on Saturday, September 17 against Point Loma.
