STUNT Soars to First Three Wins

CUI Goes 3-1 During Texas Road Trip

DALLAS, Texas - The Concordia University Irvine Stunt team opened its last season as a club sport with three emphatic victories in a tournament hosted by Dallas Baptist University.
CUI cruised past Texas Woman's University 22-3 in its first Friday match.

The Golden Eagles then dominated the Oklahoma City Stars 20-8 to improve to 2-0.

"It was such a strong start for us," said CUI head coach Karli Shutt. "There were so many great triumphs today but definitely areas that will need improvement. What we saw in these games is that this 2023 team means business. Everyone knows their roles and they never stop finding ways to improve."

"We have great leadership within the team, keeping everyone locked in and focused. Today proved how much can be achieved when we work as one. So excited for what's in store for CUI Stunt this season," added Shutt.

The Golden Eagles then faced both Dallas Baptist and Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday.

CUI defeated Dallas Baptist by overcoming an 8-4 halftime deficit.  The Golden Eagles swept the entire third quarter racking up the points and posting ten in the final stanza to cement the come-from-behind 17-11 win.

Oklahoma Baptist fended off CUI in the last contest by a score of 23-7.
