NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Concordia University Irvine stunt team flew down to Tennessee for the 2025 Stunt National Championships. With eleven schools competing for the National title, Concordia will have a chance to win it all in the double-elimination tournament.
On the first day, Stunt went face to face with nearby Costa-Mesa rival, Vanguard. The Golden Eagles have taken on Vanguard multiple times in the season, but inevitably fell 6-13 in the first match of the tournament.
The Golden Eagles were knocked out of the winner's bracket. But, undeterred, they steadily climbed the ranks on Friday with two crucial wins. Neither opposing team broke past double digits, allowing the Green and the Gold to sail ahead.
Concordia defeated Saint Mary's 13-4, then went on to their second match of the day and capsized the Maryville Saints 14-8.
After capturing dual landslide wins on Friday, Davenport put up a brilliant fight against Concordia on Saturday morning. Tumbling through the third day of the competition, the Concordia stunt team rallied, but fell short against Davenport University 5-16.
The Green and the Gold struggled to gain more than a single point in the four quarters, but managed to gain traction coming out of the half. Davenport continued to earn the point for each routine, sending the Golden Eagles into a disadvantage. By the end of it, Davenport had sealed it's victory and the Golden Eagles were knocked out of the competition.
The scores for each quarter were as follows: 1-4, 1-4, 2-3, and 1-5.
Despite their growing momentum, the Green and the Gold closed out the 2025 season with an overall record of 13-11.
