NASHVILLE, Ten. - The Concordia University Stunt team closed out the Music City Classic boasting two near-perfect scores against Purdue Northwest and Quincy.
Stunt is broken down into four quarters: partner stunts, pyramids & tosses, jumps & tumbling, and a final team routine, which is a combination of the other three quarter routines.
Concordia repeatedly outperformed teams in the fourth quarter.
In the Maryville match, the Golden Eagles secured their lead in the third quarter, making it 10-4. Eight solid points in the team routine sealed the victory for Concordia. The final score for the early Friday match was CUI 18 – Maryville 8.
The Golden Eagles went on to win the next two matches and surpassed their opponents who scored zero points overall.
Concordia defeated Purdue Northwest 23-0 on Friday evening.
Keeping the good energy going, the Golden Eagles took care of business against Quincy with another star-studded performance. Concordia wrapped up the final match of the Music City Classic with a final score of 22-0.
The No. 7 Concordia Stunt team proved its mettle in Nashville, Tennessee. The Golden Eagles finished the weekend with a golden three-win streak, making their overall record 9-7.
NEXT UP: The Green and the Gold head to the Cal Poly SLO Tournament on Friday, April 4 to take on Jessup. Everything kicks off at 11 a.m. for the Golden Eagles.
