IRVINE, Calif. - On Wednesday evening the CUI women's lacrosse team looked to get back to their winning ways in their home-opener against Fullerton College.
In the first half, both Concordia and Fullerton would remain in a stalemate as they ended the first quarter tied 3-3. Though the second period of action saw the Hornets score 6 unanswered goals as Concordia looked to generate a response. The Golden Eagles would be able cut the deficit to five but would need a big second half to complete the comeback. Unfortunately, the Hornets would outscore CUI 7-2 across the final two frames to secure the 16-6 victory.
Finch would lead Concordia's offense with four goals while
Trinity White and
Jessi Borton would each score a goal of their own. On defense,
Darby McGregor made 12 save on the day.
CUI will be back in action March 19th, as they go on the road to take on University of San Diego.
