IRVINE, Calif. - The Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles returned to action Saturday with a dominating doubleheader, sweeping Northern Arizona and Santa Clara to showcase depth and balance on both ends of the field.
GAME 1 – CUI 17, Santa Clara 5
CUI opened the day with a commanding win, defeating Santa Clara 17–5 behind an aggressive and efficient offensive performance. Presley Macktinger, Jessi Borton, and Lexi Miner each scored five goals, while Riley Finch added four assists, fueling the Golden Eagles' high-powered attack.
GAME 2 – CUI 15, Northern Arizona 3
Concordia followed up with another strong showing with a 15–3 victory over Northern Arizona, controlling play early through a balanced offensive attack and disciplined defense. The Golden Eagles got on the board quickly, with Jessi Borton leading the way with four goals, while Sophia Lindall and Lexi Miner each added three more. Courtney Miller contributed four assists, keeping the offense flowing and creating opportunities for teammates.
The Golden Eagles' defense remained locked in throughout the game, disrupting Santa Clara's offensive sets and preventing extended scoring runs. Draw control and efficient clears allowed Concordia to control the tempo, while Kylie Glover added six saves in goal to secure another strong defensive outing.
With the pair of wins, Concordia finished Saturday demonstrating both depth and consistency, continuing their strong non-conference play as the Golden Eagles look ahead to upcoming challenges.
