COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's lacrosse team battled until the final whistle but fell 10–9 in overtime to the San Diego Toreros women's lacrosse on Senior Day at CUI Lacrosse Field.
Before the game, the Golden Eagles honored their senior class for their dedication and impact on the program. Darby McGregor, Maya Kay, Jessi Borton, Anabel Manuel, and Riley Finch were recognized in a pregame ceremony celebrating their careers at Concordia University Irvine.
CUI stayed competitive throughout the afternoon in a back-and-forth contest that eventually required overtime. Despite the strong effort, the Toreros managed to find the game-winner to secure the 10–9 victory.
Offensively, Lexi Miner led the Golden Eagles with three goals. Presley Macktinger added two goals, while Mia Mongan, Jessi Borton, Kayla Cimarusti, and Sophia Lindall each contributed a goal to round out the scoring.
Mongan also played a key role as a facilitator with two assists, while Courtney Miller and Riley Finch each recorded one assist.
In goal, Darby McGregor anchored the defense with six saves in the close contest.
The Golden Eagles showed resilience throughout the game, pushing the Toreros into overtime and honoring their seniors with a hard-fought performance in front of the home crowd.
