IRVINE, Calif. – The CUI women's lacrosse team earned a dominant 14-5 victory over Cal State Fullerton today. The win was made even more special as it was also Senior Day, honoring the Golden Eagles' seniors Samantha Gomez, Melinda Ibanez, and Genevieve Maczko.

The Golden Eagles came out strong in the first quarter with Mia Mongan leading the charge, scoring three goals. Melinda Ibanez and Riley Finch each added a goal, giving CUI a solid 5-1 lead heading into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the offensive production continued as Alexandria Bennett, Mia Mongan, Lexi Miner, and Riley Finch each found the back of the net. CUI extended their lead to 9-3 at halftime.

Mia Mongan and Samantha Gomez both scored in the third quarter, pushing the Golden Eagles' lead to 11-4. In the final quarter, Anabel Manuel and Genevieve Maczko added goals to close out the game with a 14-5 win.

Next Game

The Golden Eagles will next compete in the WWLL Postseason Tournament on April 12th, with the exact matchups and times still to be determined. CUI will look to carry their strong performance into the postseason as they aim for another successful run.
