Golden Eagles Post Fourth Victory With At Least Ten Points Scored

FULLERTON, Calif. - For the fourth time this season, Concordia University Irvine stunt earned a victory away from home. On the same day, CUI also secured its fifth outing with at least ten points or more on the mats.

Both of Saturday's games were played in nearby Fullerton and hosted by local rival Hope International University.

CUI 23, UC Davis 6

Coach Karli Shutt's squad matched up extremely well in the first game of the day against UC Davis.

The Golden Eagles opened up a modest lead in the early quarters and then dominated down the stretch.

The fourth period in particular was owned by CUI as the Golden Eagles swooped in for tons of points to make it an emphatic double-digit victory.

William Jessup 18, CUI 15

Concordia came right back for a second match of the day a few hours after defeating the Aggies.

William Jessup appeared to be much improved from past seasons and presented a strong challenge.  CUI trailed by two points at halftime by a count of 7-5 but was right in the mix to make a move.

After earning one more point in the third, it was 9-7 in favor of William Jessup entering the early stages of the fourth period.

CUI regrouped and even took the lead 12-11.  Both teams kept racking up multiple points but it all added up to a close 18-15 win for William Jessup.

Concordia has four more games locally coming up on the schedule.  This includes a home contest against CBU on Tuesday, April 4 and also Senior Night on Wednesday, April 12 against HIU.
