The Concordia University Irvine's women's lacrosse team went 3-0 in a dominating performance in the Santa Barbara Shootout.

The regular season opener was on Friday against San Jose State University, followed by a double header on Saturday against Chico State and UCLA. The Golden Eagles were able to completely overtake their opponent with a 17-2 win over the Spartans and a 13-1 win over the Wildcats. There was a total of 12 different goals scorers for CUI and six freshmen scored their first goals.

Freshmen
Courtney Miller,
Lexi Miner, and
Mia Mongan were a few of the top scorers for the green and gold. Miner and Mongan both scored 6 goals and Miller finished the weekend with 4 goals, five assists.

Sophomore
Riley Finch was amongst another top scorer for CUI with six goals and two assists. Alongside her Gen Maczko and
Jessi Borton scored a combined 10 goals for CUI, six and four respectively.

Saturday's last match against UCLA was the biggest nail biter of them all, with a close score of 8-7, CUI.
Darby McGregor accumulated an incredible seven saves in the match against the Bruins, a new season high for the sophomore goalie. Finch had two goals, Borton, Maczko, and Miller all scored one goal, and
Lexi Miner scored 3 goals in the game against the Bruins.

CUI starts their home run with a match against Biola on Saturday February 10 at 2pm on the Golden Eagles Field.
