IRVINE, Calif. - For the second straight Monday,
Cortney Koelmans was honored as the PacWest Pitcher of the Week.
This time she was joined by shortstop
Rylie Rohr as multiple Golden Eagles were honored by the conference after helping CUI softball extend its winning streak to 11 games.
Koelmans tossed an absolute gem in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Biola. The senior pitched a complete game shutout and only allowed one hit over seven innings.
She showed great command of the strike zone by striking out nine batters while also not allowing any free passes.
Rohr delivered the walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning in
Friday's 5-3 home win over Biola. She moved just two homers away from tying the school record of 42 shared by Amanda Fama and Amy Eilefson. She also had a RBI single earlier in the contest.
Rohr added a clutch two-run double in game two to help back Koelmans.Â
Next up for the nationally-ranked Golden Eagles is a pair of home doubleheaders this weekend with Hawai'i Hilo. CUI hosts the Vulcans this Friday, March 15 at 3 pm and 5pm, followed by a rematch on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.
