NASHVILLE, Ten. - A hop, skip, and a plane ride landed CUI Stunt in Nashville for another two-day tournament. Stunt closed out the weekend 3-1 against Trevecca Nazarene, UT Martin, Ashland, and Maryville on March 15th and 16th.
In the first match against the meet's host, Trevecca Nazarene, Concordia took the win 14-13. Following soon after, CUI defeated UT Martin that evening 17-10. The Golden Eagles carried all the momentum and discipline into day two.
The second day started with an impressive score of CUI 17 – Ashland 9. The Golden Eagles came out of the gates flying. And despite a close 14-14 tie in the fourth quarter, Maryville secured the last three points of the match to steal the win. The final score was CUI 14 – Maryville 17.
The stunt team has an overall record of 9-4 as of March 16 and has its sights set on what comes next.
The Green and the Gold compete in their next matches against Kentucky and Vanguard on the evening of Wednesday, March 20. Those games have been moved to Concordia's gym but Vanguard will serve as the host school. The change in venue is due to Vanguard's ongoing construction of its new facilities that are not yet complete.
Game times are still in flux but as of this writing, the first of three games that Wednesday on Concordia's campus is slated to start at 6 p.m. PT.
The next official home CUI stunt match will be on Tuesday, March 26 against Vanguard as well.
