FULLERTON, Calif. - Rain or shine, the Concordia women's lacrosse team blazed past Cal State Fullerton in Saturday's neck-in-neck match.
In the first half, Concordia's offense broke through the Titans' defense to capture a lead. The main goal scorers for Concordia were Riley Finch, Courtney Miller, Jessi Borton, and Lexi Miner. The Titans bounced back in the second half with a few goals of their own.
The Golden Eagles were undeterred. Sophomore goalie Darby McGregor held her ground with twelve saves. Kennedi Tuliau caused a turnover that led to a goal for CUI to tie the game, and send it into overtime.
The Golden Eagles made a comeback in the last two minutes of the match. Riley Finch scored the final CUI goal in overtime thanks to Courtney Miller, who had a career-high of five assists. Concordia won in overtime 9-8 and clinched their eighth win of the season.
