IRVINE, Calif. - The CUI Arena was filled to the brim with supportive friends, family, and fans in the rematch against Vanguard. After a close overtime match last week against The Lions, CUI prepared rigorously for the big moment, threw in a celebration for the seniors, and even sung Happy Birthday to Coach Karli.
It was a heart-warming event for the nine seniors recognized for their careers with the Golden Eagles. These remarkable seniors included: Faith Cummings, Emma Bogardus, Alyssa Janssen, Andrea Valencia, Madelyn Almodovar, Megan Liddicoat, Madelyn Molnar, Mya Lewis, and Kirby Holiday.
Their combined efforts and dedication to the team have truly made this season special.
The Golden Eagles flew out of the gates with high energy and precision to capture the lead 3-2 in the first moments of the match. Concordia remained persistent and strong, all while maintaining broad grins on their faces. The Vanguard Lions managed to steal the lead back in the second half to make it 6-8, but the Golden Eagles remained steadfast. Key landings and graceful maneuvering racked up more points for Concordia.
In the end, big routines bumped the final score to CUI 11 – VU 13 to end the match.
Next up for Concordia stunt is the last regular season match against CBU on April 2.
