Creve Coeur, MO - The Golden Eagles flew down to Missouri Baptist University to compete in the 2024 Stunt Division II National Championships. Concordia makes up one of the eight teams battling for a spot in the championship game.
Many familiar opponents are in the bracket alongside the Golden Eagles. Teams such as Davenport, St. Mary's, Maryville, Oklahoma Baptist, Trevecca Nazarene, Dallas Baptist, and Ashland will be flipping, fighting, and flying to claim victory. This is a great opportunity for Concordia to turn the tide and challenge the best teams in the nation.
Concordia Stunt has visited Nationals once. It was in 2021 and they were the No. 6 seed in the tournament.
In this appearance, CUI is the No. 5 seed and took on Maryville to start things off. Maryville proved a worthy opponent and came out on top with a final score of 17-10.
With an early loss, the Golden Eagles entered the loser bracket and went head-to-head with St. Mary's. Using what they had learned from their first match, the Golden Eagles flew ahead of the competition and secured their first win 18-9.
The Green and the Gold now waits for the match against DBU on Saturday at 1:30 PM CT. If the Golden Eagles win, there could possibly be another face off against Maryville or a chance to take on Ashland University.
