CUI Women's Lax Dominates Chico State in Santa Barbara Shootout

IRVINE, Calif. – The CUI women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance against Chico State in the Santa Barbara Shootout, winning 19-1. After allowing an early goal, the Golden Eagles responded by shutting out Chico for the rest of the game, dominating both offensively and defensively.

The Golden Eagles had an impressive 10 different goal scorers in the game, with standout performances from junior Lexi Miner and freshman Sophia Lindall, both recording hat tricks, scoring three goals each. Miner not only contributed offensively, but also played a key role defensively with three caused turnovers, helping her team maintain possession throughout the game.

Freshman Sofia Serrato had a strong outing as well, scoring twice, while the team's relentless offense and sharp shooting resulted in five shots on goal over the course of the game. Despite an early goal by Chico State, CUI responded swiftly, with a balanced attack and tough defense that left their opponents with no room to score.

Next Up
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow, Feb. 7, with two games. They face Sonoma State at 10:00 AM and take on UCLA at 4:00 PM. The Golden Eagles are focused on continuing their strong play and looking to build on today's success.
