Five Headed to NCAA National Championships

IRVINE, Calif. – Eleven Concordia University Irvine track and field athletes earned All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field season.

All-Region honors are awarded to the top five individuals in each event per region. This marks one of the most well-rounded and successful outdoor seasons for CUI in recent years.

Dylan Fox was honored in the long jump after another standout spring in his final season with the Eagles. Trey Vergenz had a dominant sophomore campaign, earning All-Region in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Freshman Tim Weller earned his first career honor in the discus, while Parker Williams was recognized in the 110 meter hurdles in his senior season.

On the women's side, Jasmyn Crawford earned All-Region honors in the long jump, continuing a standout senior year that included becoming the first indoor First Team All-American in program history. Tayla Crenshaw was named All-Region in the discus.Telma Kristjansson made an immediate impact as a freshman with All-Region status in the high jump. Riley Norris and Giovana Pelascini were both selected in the heptathlon, and Jori Paradis was honored in the 1500 meters.

Earlier this week, five Concordia athletes officially qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, the most in school history during the NCAA Division II era.

The meet will take place from Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24 at the ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado, and is hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo.

Representing CUI at nationals will be Dylan Fox and Jasmyn Crawford who will both compete in the long jump. Tayla Crenshaw qualified in the discus, while Jori Paradis returns in the 1500 meters after competing at nationals last year. Riley Norris also punched her ticket in the heptathlon after setting a new school record at the Franson Last Chance Meet.

CUI heads to Pueblo looking to close out a standout season on the national stage.
