IRVINE, Calif. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams at Concordia University Irvine collected academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as a select group of NCAA DII programs that earned a Team GPA of at least 3.2 or higher this past school year.
Seven individual student-athletes were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes after earning a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 2023-24 school year.
Five women including ITA All-Americans
Tiffany Carrillo and
Sophie Rachor made the list. Along with
Alicia Da Re, who earned a 4.0 GPA, that talented trio achieved this high academic praise for the second straight year.
Joining those three were freshmen standouts
Emilie Lugon-Moulin and
Bryn Johnson, who also had fantastic debuts as new Golden Eagles out on the courts. Lugon-Moulin even was named
ITA Regional Rookie of the Year and Johnson
joined her as Third Team All-PacWest selections in doubles last spring.
The CUI women's tennis team made the NCAA DII West Regional for the third time in four years this past spring under the leadership of head coach and CUI alum
Ellie Johnson.
Max Renz and
Second Team All-PacWest selection Mattis Le Montagner represented the CUI men's squad as ITA Scholar-Athletes as well.
